The power of a rumor

Over the last several days it’s been pretty crazy trying to get gas in the greater Nashville area.

If you’re like me, then you probably have experienced the “craziness” of people when they can’t get what they want.

According to CNN we have been the victim of a rumor.   The rumor was that the city was going to run out of gas and as it spread across the city it made the people panic.  People went to the pumps and bought as much as four times what they needed.  People simply panicked because of what someone told them or they heard from an unreliable source.

Isn’t it amazing how powerful words can be?  They don’t even have to be true and they still can have amazing impact on the lives of everyone.

I remember specifically a rumor that impacted my life that was not even close to being true.  Rumors can be tough on our lives.

Has a rumor ever impacted your life?
