Sunday was the end to our current series “Reflect”.
If you’ve been around during this series then you know that this has been a totally stripped down time of worship at Crossroads. We abandoned about every service element we normally use during this series. We had no worship guide, no graphics, no video and no band. We literally “cleared the stage” and let this be a time when God could speak to us clearly.
I’m totally aware that some people opted not to come because of the change. It’s funny how change can throw some people off and many times our reaction to change will say a lot about what’s going on inside of us.
Thanks to all of you who hung in there for the entire series. As you know, this is probably one of the toughest series I can remember.
Here are a few things I noticed on Sunday:
I have to say this right out of the shoot…Patrick and his “Host Team” did a great job. Thanks to you guys for making it happen!
Some of the best weather I can remember!
Great to see so many visitors.
We are looking forward for some of you who were out working at the fair to come back!
Great time of acoustic worship!
Have you noticed some of the changes we’ve made around the building?
Great having the CU students back in the house! Take time to speak to those guys and “thank” them for being part of Crossroads.
I loved mixing up the music and the message on Sunday!
Cooler weather is just around the corner!
Missed a few friends on Sunday but had some great conversation with some I hadn’t seen in a while!
This happened on Saturday and it’s worth mentioning….I was privileged to baptize someone in the river north of town! It was beautiful!
Great crowd on Sunday in all three services!
Totally amazed at all of the good things God has done in the past few months!
It’s early in Lebanon and I’m headed to the lake to baptize someone who’s going to be leaving town and moving to another state.
There’s nothing like doing a baptism at the lake.
I’m reminded of the story of John the Baptist and his baptism of Jesus. Can you imagine how it must have felt to have the one that you had been speaking about, walk out of the crowd and ask you to baptize him?
What a great way to start this day as another person identifies with Christ!
It just seems really hard to get the “Two on Tuesday” done on Tuesday.
The last several week’s it’s been Wednesday before I can get it on the blog.
Here is this week’s edition of “Two on Tuesday”:
Funny how you would think a tire would last longer than five years. Since it looked like I had a flat I took my car into the shop and they informed me that my tires were “dry rotting” because they were old. Really?
Have you ever walked across the room, drove across town, went to the store, only to find out when you arrived you didn’t know why you were there? Guilty!
The only think I can say about Sunday is that it was great all the way around!
We had great weather, good crowds and an amazing day of worship as we continued our series “Reflect”.
As many of you know this series has been one in which we have abandoned all of our normal elements and we’ve just stripped it down and let it be simply worship and its simplest form and a message. The response that many of you have given us has been just short of amazing. Yesterday alone we received countless comments about how you are enjoying the change in worship. And for those of you that want to know if this is a permanent change, the answer is no. We will be going back to our usual format in the next couple of weeks, but we do feel that God has led us to this style during this series.
Here are a few things that I noticed from Sunday:
I’m thankful each week to see the visitors that come and check out Crossroads.
I really appreciate your comments about how Crossroads is impacting the life of you and or your family.
Didn’t you love doing the hymns? I know that most of you did because today I’ve received emails and comments from some of you. Thanks again for the feedback!
What about the weather! Looks like next Sunday is going to be a good one too!
Did you notice anything different on the stage Sunday!
Great to see our Cumberland students back on Sunday!
I had the opportunity to meet the parents of several students on Sunday and they were very thankful for Crossroads and the role you guys are playing in the lives of their children.
Great job by Rhett on Sunday!
Thanks to some last minute volunteers who filled in for some others who were not available on Sunday!
We know several of you were out because of your duties at the fair…we’ll be looking for you next Sunday!
Have a great week and don’t forget to have a “funnel cake” at the fair this week!
I mean really, can you believe that it’s already Friday and time for some of the most “useless” yet thought provoking information?
Well it is, Friday that is and here is this weeks dose of “Useless Friday Information”.
“The wingspan of a Boeing 747 just is longer than the Wright Brother’s first flight.”
“Another wonderful use for lemon juice is to apply it to age spots (face included) before going to bed. It will help get rid of age spots on hands and face areas.”
“Because metal was scarce, the Oscars given out during World War II were made of wood.”
“Ants stretch when they wake up in the morning.”
“Mark Twain was born on a day in 1835 when Halley’s Comet came into view. When he died in 1910, Halley’s Comet was in view again.”
“Fortune cookies were actually invented in America, in 1918, by Charles Jung.”
“The moon is about 27 percent the size of Earth and far less massive. Gravity on the moon is only about 1/6 of that on Earth. If you drop a rock on the moon, it falls more slowly. If you weigh 150 pounds on Earth, you’d weigh 25 pounds on the moon.”
“The moon’s orbit around Earth is oval, not a circle, so the distance between the center of Earth and the moon’s center varies throughout each orbit. At perigee, when the moon is closest to Earth, that distance is 225,740 miles. At apogee, the farthest position, the distance is 251, 970 miles.”

There’s lot’s of cooking going on this week. When you hear people talk, you usually find that they specialize in something. As for me….it’s the “turkey”. Right now I am at home and about to put “turkey” number three in the oven. Yes, you heard that right. This will be my third “turkey” this week. […]
The day before “Thanksgiving” at my house is really busy! Actually it’s the time that we celebrate “Thanksgiving” or at least it’s the day we start (we celebrate it several times this week). Tonight we will have the staff and leadership of Crossroads over for a “mega-feast”. We’ll have more food than you […]
