What's Kicking Chicken?

Sunday Rewind

July 6, 2009 · 2 Comments

Sometimes when you have a holiday weekend you really don’t know what to expect and that was exactly the case this weekend.  With July 4th falling on Saturday we were sure that we were going to have lots of people out of town or visiting family.

Well this weekend turned out well beyond my expectations.  I know that many of you were disappointed because your fireworks were washed out on Saturday night, but we did the best we could to deliver on Sunday.

Here are a few things I noticed from Sunday:

  • Great to have three services and all three went without a hitch.
  • Patrick and his “host team” did an amazing job…especially given the fact that this was a holiday weekend.  I love it when people really get the importance of serving sacrificially.
  • I’ve probably enjoyed this series as much as any we’ve done at Crossroads.
  • I’m still amazed at all of the feedback that we’ve gotten from you guys during this series.
  • Did you love the acoustic worship?  I missed the full band but I really loved the change!
  • It was good to see some old friends in the service on Sunday.
  • I am totally missing some of you people who have been on vacations.  We’re looking forward to having you back.
  • Crossroads continues to move with the vision that God has given us.  It’s really going to be exciting to watch what happens over the coming months and years.
  • This past week has been one of the most exciting I can remember.
  • Did you notice that Rhett wrote one of the songs from this past week’s worship set?
  • We need you guys to continue inviting like you have been.  Crossroads has had three great summers because you guys continue to invite.  It’s the key to who we are and what God has called us to do.

That’s about it…..hey, make a note that you can now access the blog by going to the web address whatskickingchicken.com

Help! my wife and daughter (from wilmington, nc) are with sam feazel in honduras as i type this. they were supposed to come home tomorrow (monday), but commercial flights are canceled. I’m a little desperate for info here, so if there’s anything you can pass on, I’d surely appreciate it. thanks so much for posting sam’s e-mail. i found you through a google search of sam’s name.

      Tim,

Here’s a little info…..I heard from my daughter Mallory who is with them in Honduras. She said everything was fine and the group was doing well. The airport is closed as you know because the former president was trying to re-enter the country.

I anticipate they will probably be back in the US on Tuesday….not sure, but that’s what my daughter thought.

They’ve had a great trip and to be honest, I expected something like this to happen. I know it’s easier said that done, but don’t worry to much, I think Phil and Sam will make sure everything is taken care of and they make it back safely here to the states.
