Time for two amazing disappointments for this Tuesday!
Here you go….
Why does a weather front have to bring such “headache” pain? If you would like to know the weather then call me. I can always tell by what’s happening with my head!
I had the worst Chili’s food today I’ve ever tasted! Chili’s you let me down!
This past Sunday in week five of “Back Seat Jesus” I took the time to cover something that so often can creep up and cause a problem in my very own life.
I call it “religiosity”. You may wonder just what it is I mean when I use that word and if you hang around, I will be glad to tell you!
“Religiosity” is when I become more concerned with the religious activity in my life than I do my relationship with God.
Simply put, I feel better about myself when I’m more active doing “religious” stuff. But it’s all of this activity that causes me to fail to spend the close, personal time alone with God that I so desperately need. I simply hide behind the activity and feel good about myself.
What I fail to realize is that God is more concerned about the condition of my heart than He is about all the activity that I care to try and accomplish.
How often do you find yourself hidding behind “religiosity”?
Here are just a few of my thoughts and observations from Sunday…
Never, ever judge a book by it’’s cover!
What in the world happened to the weather on Sunday?
I simply love the fact that I get to do what I do at Crossroads….you guys are the greatest people in the world to Pastor!
I have a feeling that God is about to do more than we could ever ask or think!
All I simply need to do is keep a check on my heart…..everything else will come from that!
Great job by Derrick and his “Host Team”. Derrick has done a great job at stepping up and putting together a great team of his own people. Thanks Derrick!
Make sure and get your baptism info into us this week….if you didn’t get it to us on Sunday you can call the church office and arrange to get it to us this week!
We are getting close to make the sound up grade!
Half of our Easter invites were given out…..we have to get the rest out this next Sunday…..we are looking for “huge” crowds!
I continue to love hearing from you and the “Back Seat Jesus” series!
Don’t forget Easter is just two weeks away…..
Lots and lots of visitors….
Great attendance for the last weekend of Spring Break.
Still a lot of sickness going around isn’t there?
I love it when volunteers see the impact they make and think above themselves! You guys are the best!
Seeing a need and meeting it…..that’s what I love about our church!
I’m encouraged at what I see the “new believers” at Crossroads reaching out and getting involved in.
Well that’s all for now……have a great week and don’t forget to invite someone to come with you to Crossroads!
Here’s this week’s edition of “Useless Friday Info”.
Enjoy!

Can you believe that Easter is just a little over two weeks away?
On Wednesday I spent about half the day making plans for Easter and I must admit that I’m pretty excited.
This Easter at Crossroads is going to be great! You guys need to be making plans to invite lots and lots of people! This Sunday we’re giving you some really simple invites to hand out. Make sure and grab a few to take and give to someone.
Remember…..Easter is just a little over two weeks away!
Yes, I’m getting terrible about doing my timely post of disappointments on Tuesday like it’s supposed to be.
So here they are a day late:
Ok, so this first is very personal…..why don’t I have the willpower I need to not do certain things….like eat certain foods. No, I’m not over weight, but I realize there are just some things I don’t need to eat!
Great…I pull up to the gas pump and see it’s jumped 14 cents in the last week. I am so glad I am out of that business!
I am the Lead Pastor for Crossroads Community Church in Lebanon, Tennessee. Crossroads is an amazing church that officially started holding services late in 2006. The views here are mine and not those of Crossroads. Some of the views that you read here are mine. The rest I just copied from people who really know what they are doing!! Ha! We all have lots of favorites when it comes to Christmas. Some of us love the food. Some of us love the friends. Some of us love the giving and receiving.
