No “grace” here!

October 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Seems that Jamaican-born Grace Jones has been dishing out some not so nice things about one of the current Vice Presidential candidates.

Now I guess there is a natural assumption that you and I truly care what she thinks.  Isn’t it all to interesting how many of the so called “famous” people are all so willing to let us know what they think and who they do and don’t like.

Looks like poor Grace may be trying to get ready for the HDTV that’s going to happen in 2009.  Grace, we just love your “retro” look!

So do you care what the media elite think about our Presidential choices?

It’s FRIDAY…..and you know what that means!

October 31, 2008 · 2 Comments

That’s right……it’s Friday and that means that it’s the time of the week when all the world takes just a few minutes to stop, drop and roll to the computer to see what amazing insight Randy is willing to share with us this week.

We call it “Useless Friday Info” and that means just that…..its USELESS INFO!

So here you go…

“Coca Cola was originally green”

“It is impossible to lick your elbow”

The State with the highest percentage of people who walk to work is Alaska”

“28% of Africa is wilderness…..and 38% of North America is wilderness…..does that seem possible?”

“Men can read smaller print easier than women can…..women can hear better”

“The cost of raising a medium size dog to the age of eleven is $16,400″

“Intelligent people have more zinc and copper in their hair”

“Tom Sawyer was the first novel ever written on a typewriter”

“The San Francisco Cable cars are the only mobile National Monuments”

“Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history”

“Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of their birthplace”

“Honey is the only food that doesn’t spoil”

“The day with the most collect calls has always been Father’s Day”

A view from outside

October 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Have you ever felt a little embarrassed to be called a “Christian”?

Well let me admit it right here…..I have!

The truth is that over the years Christians have developed a pretty bad reputation.  The view from outside of Christianity is pretty grim.  We’re known as judgemental, narrow minded, bigots, right-wing and a whole host of other things.  Some I can’t really even mention here.

I think it’s real unfortunate that many times we are known more for the things we’re against than for the things we’re for.

This was the very backbone behind our “Split Screen” series and if you didn’t take the time to listen to those messages then I would strongly urge you to set aside some time and to do just that.  There’s just something special that happens when Christians take the time and address the things in our own lives that we are so quick to point out as wrong in the lives of others.

What steps are you taking in your life to make the view from outside a little better?
