At Crossroads we’ve just started this new series titled “Split Screen” and in many way’s its based on something that Jesus said in Luke Chapter 6.
When I was preparing for this series I was taken back to being one of the people in the group with Jesus. I imagined myself hearing these words come out of his mouth. It’s words like these that make me stop and think about my life……it’s something I love about Jesus. Jesus has this amazing ability to make me stop and look at myself.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in someone else’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”
“How can you say, ‘Friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from the other person’s eye.” Luke 6:41-42
I have to admit that many times as a Christian I’ve been all about dealing with other people’s “stuff” and not dealing with my own. Sadly this is the way that most of the unbelieving world sees us.
This series is already rocking my world.
