Just wanted to take the time and let you know what really attracts one of the most annoying insects that every made it on to the ark!
If you like to sit outside eating bananas in your favorite blue shirt, you’re about to become a mosquito’s best friend.
They’re twice as attracted to blue than any other color and appear to have a special love for people who have just eaten bananas.

I just love technology!
It allows me to take those things that are stored deep within me and put them out there in cyberspace for all of the world to enjoy (I make a bold assumption there)!
So let’s move on to this weeks holiday edition of “Useless Friday Info”!
“In the average lifetime, a person produces 10,000 gallons of saliva.”
“Mark Twain remarked, “I never let schooling interfere with my education.”
“Ants have six legs. Each leg has three joints. Ants can left 20 times their own body weight.”
“Sleeping bags reflect body heat back to you.
“Why is it that people say they “slept like a baby” when babies wake up like every two hours?
“Why do you have to “put your two cents in”…..but it’s only a “penny for your thoughts?” Where does the extra penny go?”
“Without contraception, the average woman would bear between 12 and 15 children in her lifetime.”
“All mile markers go down as you head south and go up as you head north.”
“A little truckers CB Lingo…….alligator/blown tire in the road, backslide/return trip, bumper sticker/car to close to bumper, Evil Knievel/motorcycle cop, Salt shaker/snow plow, wiggle wagons/double or triple trailer trucks.”
“For great tender pancakes remember to only flip them once. Flipping them more will make them tougher.”

This morning I was doing some reading and found something that really stopped me in my tracks. It was written by Charles Swindoll…..
When I panic, I run.
When I run, I lose.
When I lose, God waits.
When I wait, He fights.
When He fights, He wins.
And when He wins, I learn.
What about you? Do you find yourself in these words?

When I was younger I was really interested in the political process.
I loved watching both of the conventions……..there was just something about the way it worked that really got me going.
This morning as I was going through my usual check of the news I saw this picture of the Democratic Convention and it reminded me of how I use to love the process……..but now I can’t hardly allow myself to watch it anymore.
Does anyone out there feel my pain?

Today and tomorrow and going to be cram packed for me!
I have a trip to Nashville this morning and then a huge afternoon of things to do.
Why is it that when you have to be away from the office a couple of days it seems that your work doubles before you leave and when you get back?
Anyone out there relate…….????
Sometimes it just doesn’t seem worth it does it?

It’s that day of the week when I stop and look into all that has happened and discover the two biggest disappointments of the day so far.
Nothing like having a little fun…..
There you go…….shoot me your off the wall disappointments for the day!
I’m waiting……

That’s a question I have people ask me a lot these days.
What can I do to help Crossroads? Where can I be of the most help?
The truth is there are lots of places to serve at Crossroads and I know that it probably seems to most people that we have all the bases covered but that is the furthest from the truth. We have at least 50-60 volunteer positions open right now.
But probably the biggest way you can help in addition to serving is getting on board and committing to giving as part of our “Higher” campaign.

“Higher” is going to enable Crossroads to do some amazing things, one of which is to take over the next 5000 square feet and begin renovating it as part of our family ministry. You may be aware that a few weeks ago we actually renovated some of our existing space (which was only 18 months old) for our students. They were out of room and needed more space. Two weeks after we were done it is already full. We have got to get this new space renovated.
These are exciting days at Crossroads…….don’t sit on the sidelines and miss being part of what God is doing!

One of the things that I realize about Crossroads is that it’s hard for some people to get their hands around some of the things that God is doing.
It’s hard to put others ahead of yourself….
It’s hard to think about those outside our walls…
It’s hard to get up or come when you don’t feel like it and serve…
It’s hard to give up some of the things you want for the greater good of others…
But it’s what Jesus asks us to do.
Enough said?
