We’ve all been to the doctor.
I remember my first visit to the doctor and he came out with that thing hanging around his neck. I had no idea what it was but then he took the object that hung around his neck and used it to listen to my heart.
Jesus says it Matthew 15:17-18 that the mouth is the stethoscope to the heart. If you want to know what someone’s heart is like then all you need to do is listen to their mouth. And what I know is that this is so very true. Why do I know it’s so true? Because I can look back and take a close look at the things I was saying and how they were truly things that were going on in my heart. It’s true that the things that hide in a man’s heart can truly make him unclean.
Over the next few days I’m going to be picking back up on this “heart” issue stuff. And you’re probably asking why in the heck is this so important? Well the truth of the matter is that if we are going to go as a church where God wants to take us then these are issues each of us needs to be working out.
