Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!

What an amazing day at Crossroads!  I mean I thought that Easter was good but I have to admit that yesterday was totally off the hook!

Yesterday we started our new series “King Me” and what a  start it was.  Sunday was one of the days that I “so” can say, “this is why I do what I do!”  Let me give you some specifics:

  • It was great to see people jumping in even after Easter and getting involved
  • Great music on Sunday….Mike does a great job in letting God use him in the selection of our music
  • Thanks to you guys who are making a permanent move from the 11 am to the 9 am service so that we will have more room for visitors
  • Energy, energy……it was great in both services
  • What a response…!  God was moving in both services.  We simply asked for those that felt led to bring their shoes and leave them.  You guys were amazing!  It was so moving to see kids as little as 2 years old get involved.  Thanks be to God for those who “he” spoke to and who were obedient.  You guys rock!
  • It’s great to be me……and get to Pastor the greatest group of people in the world.  I’m not perfect but you take me like I am.  (drool and all)
  • For those that came up to me after the services and asked about bringing more shoes, you can!  Bring them in a garbage bag to church with you next Sunday.  We will take it from there!

Thanks for all you guys do and let me say it again…..I am honored to be used by God and be your Pastor.

See ya later…..bye!

It isn’t true!

Elvis IS alive and here he is with our fearless Worship Leader Mike Cowart.

Mike said that he and Elvis ate nine peanut butter and banana sandwiches!  Then they got on the “merry-go-round” and……you get the picture!

America’s Best Dance Crew

March 29, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have found another show that I have slowly become addicted too…..America’s Best Dance Crew.

The talent of all these men and women is nothing short of amazing! I am already looking forward to the next season that is going to be on the air this summer!

I’m thinking we need to extend an invitation to the winner to visit us at Crossroads!

New Series

Have these words ever come out of your mouth, “It’s your life, I’m just passing through.”

I think we’ve all made that statement and the truth is that most of us think that life is all about me. “It’s what I want. It’s what I need. It’s all about “me.”

But when we stop and take a look at scripture we find a very different story of how life for a Christ follower really should be lived.

Join us this Sunday at Crossroads as we start our new series “King me.”

What I’ve heard from you!

March 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

On a typical Monday morning it’s not uncommon for me to receive emails regarding our services.

Here is one that I received from Easter Sunday.

“Going to church for most of my 42 years, I would rarely leave a service and be able to share the message. Not anymore. I got six words for ya: “The goat has left the building!” – Phil

I had no words

The picture below is one that I saw on the blog of Carlos Whittaker. Carlos lives in Atlanta where he is on staff at Buckhead Church.

The picture is of a young man named Jefferson who is suffering from severe cerebral palsy. He is being held by his friend Matt. The two of them are worshiping together.

I want to admit…..the moment I saw this picture I stopped and cried. I lost my breath. I didn’t have words to describe what I was looking at. How amazing that someone would truly worship God by holding someone else up so they could worship.

Amazing!
